Ulysses Reading Group Meeting – Sunday 12 August 2012

The next meeting of the Ulysses Reading Group is on Sunday 12 August 2012 at 7.30pm in Muir Court.  We are starting episode 14 – “The Oxen of the Sun”.

This episode begins with the phrase “Deshil Holles Eamus” repeated three times   This is rather daunting but if you know that “deshil” is Irish for clockwise, “Holles” is a reference to the Holles Street Maternity Hospital and “eamus” is “we go” in Latin, then it’s simply saying “Let’s all go round to Holles Street”.
